A new era of super huge robot statues is coming.

e

In Kobe, they are just finishing up the statue of Tetsujin 28-go (Metal person no. 28) or Giant Gigantor as it was also called in the western world.

This cartoon was before Gundam and I remember it as a little kid.

e3

I actually had some robot toys of this guy.

e5

A much simpler robot for simpler times.

e4

He needs to cut down on his fat tho.

In other news, Korea is jumping on the robot boom too with their creation of ROBOT LAND.

They are building perhaps the tallest robot in the world. Named Robot Taekwon V (aka Voltar the Invincible)

It sort of reminds me of Majinga Z (Tranzor Z). This statue is in Spain.

It is going to be 6 times taller than the Gundam statue (59 ft) and at

364 ft, will be twice as large as the Statue of Liberty!!

It’s getting a bit crazy now…but I would like to go check it out when it’s done. ;)

Of course, I am sure it’s gonna be much more impressive than the privately built Zeta GUNDAM statue in Okayama

zg1

…built privately by one guy in his backyard…

zg3

A man full of dreams…

zg2

turned into a reality…

But EVERYTHING will look better than this Optimus Prime statue in China….
