Taco Rice

I’m from Southern California and in SOCAL, we have some great Mexican food…maybe because it’s because we’re right next door to Mexico.

One thing I can’t find in Japan is decent Mexican food! It’s either waaaay too expensive or just plain tastes like crap. Who pays $50 for Mexican food!? …and many places don’t even carry sour cream!

Japanese beef doesn’t do the carne asada beef burritos any justice either.

However, there is a substitute that is popular in Japan. It’s called Taco Rice and it originated in Okinawa…  I guess someone who went to Mexico lives in Okinawa…or maybe a Mexican-American soldier was stationed in Okinawa and unleashed his creation on Japan.

It’s basically a taco…on rice…minus the taco… It tastes really good but it’s not pure Mexican. I guess I’ll have to keep searching…

俺はロスから来ています…

ロスはメキシコの隣なのでマジおいしいメキシカン料理がいっぱいあります。

安くてうまくて毎日食ってたらデブになるような物ばっかり！

I love it!

でも日本はぼったくり高級メキシカンしかなく、まずい物しかない。なんで流行らないんだろう？…うまいのに。

日本の牛肉も上品すぎてあの味が出せないのかな？

唯一我慢して食えるのがタコライス。メキシコ人はこんなの知りません…がっがりするとおもう。

沖縄で生まれた料理だとか…沖縄の人がメキシコに行ったのかな？それともメキシコ人の米軍が作ったのかな？

あ〜でも何もないよりはいいわ。
