R36 GTR Twin Turbo Hybrid

I love GTR’s…all of them.

僕は昔からGTRが大好きです。すべてのモデルが好きだ。

The GTR was meant to carry more than just 2 people and was originally designed to win at the race track while keeping it’s street car heritage and obligations. They purposely kept the blocky sedan design instead of a more aerodynamic body like the NSX and LF-A. While unfortunately not any more, the GTR used to be much cheaper (and tunable) than the other european exotics which made the car even more appealing.

NSXやLF-Aみたいなエアロダイナミックなボディーは敢えて避け、【箱】ハコの形、つまりセダンの形に拘り、その形で数々のレースに挑戦し、世界が認める実績を残して来た。さらに、今までは世界のスーパーカーに比べて買い易い値段であり、チューニングパーツも豊富であったため、自由自在にセッティングができ、遊び方は無限であった。これで伝説の車になって行った。

However, with the recent economic problems and change in consumer demand, the GTR brand has been forced to rethink it’s global marketing strategy. It is unavoidable. There is no future for the GTR unless it can maintain high power and performance while keeping up with society’s demand for clean emissions.

しかし景気の悪化とエコに対する世の中の意識が高まったため、日産は今後のGTRブランディングを考え直さ無ければならなくなったのだ。

車が早くてもエコじゃなければ先はもう無い。

そこで残念ながら白紙状態になったプロジェクトはポルシェと対抗するはずだったR35ベース のハイパワーSUVバージョンと…

With the need for a new branding strategy aimed at a powerful but eco-friendly stance, the R36 GTR faced cancellation.

Fortunately for us, in case you didn’t know, this is probably going to be the new R36 GTR twin turbo HYBRID.

It’s been a few weeks since these pics hit Best Car magazine but I’m gonna post them anyways.

そこでGTRにはもう将来が無い！生産中止だ！…と思ったかも知れないけどありがたく、戦略の変更でR36GTRは現実しそうだ!

エンジンはなんとスポーツタイプ ハイブリッド ツインターボー モンスター！！

Unlike the Infiniti Essence using the the Skyline (G37) based 3.7 liter V6 hybrid system, the R36 will probably use a detuned version of the current 3.8 liter twin turbo engine combined with the hybrid drive. VR power will fall from 485PS→440PS but there’ll be a 160PS electric motor to deliver a total of 600HP. The hybrid system will be based off the one in the current FUGA hybrid. The weight of the lithium ion batteries under the trunk will make handling performance a big topic for final development.

Mileage is said to improve by 50% . Going by the current price difference between the normal FUGA and hybrid FUGA, the R36 should costs somewhere over $100K.

ハイブリッドシステムは日産フーガー用のを使い、エンジンは現在GTRに乗っている3.8リッターツインターボーVRエンジン。燃費を良くする為に 485PSから440PSまでパワーを落とし、街乗り用の160PS電気モーターを追加し、トータルで600PSの化け物になりそうだ。

ちなみにインフィニティー　エッセンスのデモカーはSKYLINEクーペ（インフィニティG37)の3.7リッターエンジンを使用してるため、多少異なる。電気システムは同じ。

この組み合わせで燃費はなんと今より５０％UPし、パワーもアップ！最後の課題はやはりトランクの下に積んでいる重いバッテリーが気になる。今後はハンドリングがメインの開発課題になりそうだ。

フーガの車両価格を見てるとハイブリッド車は約250万増なのでR36も多分１０００万くらいの価格になりそうだ。高っ…
