Tokyo Auto Salon : Land of the Mighty GTR’s

Everyone (including me) always complains about Tokyo Auto Salon one way or another…the show is smaller…the cars suck…etc, etc… But the truth of the matter is that we all still go and if you look hard, you’ll usually find a handful of cars you like that makes the whole trip worthwhile.

For me, it’s the land of the GTR’s.

R32,R33,R34,R35, you name it…

I still remember when the R32 came out in 1989…shocking…is all I can say.

毎年オートサロンの悪口をいう人がいる。俺もたまに言ってしまう時もある。

今年はしょぼい…とか…今年の車が良くない…客が減った…メーカーが少ない…とか…

でも結局みんなショーに行くし、なんだかんだ言っても必要な存在だ。

でもどんなに客が減っても、メーカーが撤退してもよ〜〜く見れば自分の好きな車は何台か見つかるはず。

僕の場合はやっぱりGTRをチェックするのが楽しみ。

やっぱR32が８９年に出た時の衝撃が忘れられない！

I know the R35 is a technically more superior car and I do like them…but I still have a real big fondness for all the RB family GTR’s. How can you not like them? = )

世の中は今R35で盛り上がってるけど俺はやっぱR34もRB系のGTRの全部好きだね。自分もまだR34持ってるし、RBの直６のサウンドはスムーズで痺れるからね！

The R32 blister fenders, especially with factory looking wide body lines, is timeless…

R32のブリスターフェンダー…純正のラインを残したワイドボディー感がたまらない！

力強いイメージが最高！

For Street, maybe I’m getting old, but this R34 would look dope with a body colored hood and no wing,…or at least 1/4 of that size.

Times have progressed and for the street, I prefer to leave the GT wing at home.

この34はいいね！

年を取ってるせいかも知れないけどボンネットは白にしてもらい、後ろのウィングを取ってもらえれば完璧だね…せめて１／４サイズにしてもらいたい…

時も流れ、好みも変わり、ストリートだったらGTウィングは余計。

早くて、ファッション性のある車を増やしたい。

I could stare at this forever…

ず〜〜っと見てもあきない…なぜだろう？

Although from the same chassis or breed, they all have different characters, purposes, and engine/ suspension configurations…

So sweet…

同じベースなのにすべてオリジナルのキャラと開発目的がある。

エンジン、足回り、とチューニングの味も違うから一台一台の個性が強い。

最高だね！

How can you not like a big single turbo hanging on to your RB like that?

Autech Tsukada has always been known to produce some crazy GTR’s…

オーテック　ツカダも昔から早いGTRを作って来てる…

It’s nice to have a line of performance orientated GTR’s at the show.

こうやってパフォーマンス重視のGTRが並ぶと気持ちいい〜

The R35 is nice, but the RB family still rocks on…

Lastly, I came across this extreme wide body R34!

そしてこのスーパーワイドR34を発見！

I don’t know the specs on this one but it looks pretty crazy. I’ll take one minus the stickers!
